ARE WE ROME?

When I listen to others and read what they write, my concern that we are a nation addicted to frivolous amusements and pleasures rises exponentially. (Our bread and circuses)

How is that we think we have a "right" to party?  WTH is "partying" anyway - who invented this term and why do so many feel entitled to do so every weekend?

Regarding music- again, when did so many become accustomed to hours and hours of entertainment, having
their emotions stimulated by music pleasures?  I realize I'm in the minority on this, but imagine what could be done with a brain freed from all of this bombardment?

Of course, SOME entertainment is healthy and deserved.  The levels of expectation is what troubles me.
