Disturbed to see the media depictions of Maria Shriver as the poor "victim" of lecherous, selfish,
evil Arnold.
Hmmm...Maria Shriver did not come from a poor or middle class background. She did not lack for love, education, or opportunity. She certainly did not marry so young (31) so as to excuse choosing so poorly. Their marriage was not a dive-right-in love story- they knew each other for 9 years. It was widely known that Arnold was not the kind of man that would make a dependable husband.
She is a cautionary tale for women (like Sandra Bullock) who select men who are dynamic, ambitious, and
habitually non-monogamous. Perhaps she used poor judgment; perhaps she arrogantly or naively thought she could control or change his proclivities.
Sadly, the largest victims here are the children. One of the prime motivators of MissLed is the emotional and psychological debris I often encounter from similar situations. All women MUST choose very, very carefully and wisely when selecting a man who will be their lover, the father of their children, and most likely hugely impact their happiness and well-being for the long-term.
